(3) Children and adolescents are not permitted to stay in restaurants that operate as night bars or nightclubs
and in comparable entertainment establishments.
(4) The competent authority may authorise exceptions to paragraph 1.

In plain language, when visiting the Halloween festival this means that:

Children under 14 years of age accompanied by a parent with custody can stay until midnight.
Teenagers under 16 years of age unaccompanied by a parent with custody

However, we would like to point out that the evening programme is not suitable for children under the age of 16. Therefore, children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the monster area.

For younger guests, we recommend the family days on Sundays.
As dusk falls, the horror factor is considerable or even sufficient, even for older children.

The event is not suitable for children who have no experience with monsters and witches and who have not received appropriate explanations from their parents. Please always take your children’s fears seriously and discuss the subject with them.

Do I need to dress up?
There is no costume requirement, but many of our visitors enjoy dressing up. However, we would like to point out that for safety reasons, costume items that could cause injury in a crowd are not allowed into the castle courtyard.
Will Halloween take place even if it rains?

Rain or snow, whatever the weather our monsters are always ready to scare you! The drinks and snack bars are protected from wind and weather. For safety reasons, the organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the festival in the event of severe weather warnings.

In this case of “force majeure”, purchased tickets will not be refunded. However, if a surplus is achieved for this reason, it will be paid out to the card holders on a pro rata basis.

What should I wear?

To tackle the 800-year-old cobblestones, rocky moats, marshy swamps and harsh easterly winds, we recommend strong footwear and waterproof and windproof clothing depending on the weather.

Can I bring my dog?

No. Dogs and other animals are not allowed into the castle ruins during the festival.

Is photography allowed inside the castle grounds?

Yes, you can bring a camera. However, we do not accept any liability for dropped cameras or phones.

The last bus for all evening performances leaves for the car parks at around 11 p.m.

On Sundays, the last bus leaves around 6 p.m.

Afterwards, the castle gates are closed.
